Maldivians have long called for an independent Palestinian state, condemning violations of international law and humanitarian principles by Israel. Large numbers gathered for peaceful demonstrations across the Maldives, publicly expressing their solidarity, reflecting the nation's unwavering support for Palestine.
In early 2015 Maldives also banned Israeli passport holders from entering the country as a protest against the ongoing atrocities and acts of genocide.
The Maldives will continue to mobilise for Palestine through humanitarian initiatives, advocate at international forums and amplify global awareness of the situation in Gaza. The Maldives choose to consistently stand against systematic oppression and rally for the sanctity of human lives and rights.
